God desires that His children would walk (live) by faith. Why? Because our faith is an expression of trust and when we place our trust in God we are honoring and recognizing God as God in our lives. One of the natural expressions of our faith is prayer. Calling on God to do what only He can do so that His purposes might come into reality and that He would be glorified.
I wish I could say that I always had that kind of faith. Faith that leads to bold prayers. Sometimes I do, but many times I don't. Why? I think it is because I let what I see become more real and bigger than what I don't see - God. It's foolish, but I'm just being honest. Yesterday, I came across this quote from Tony Evans and it deeply challenged me.
"Prayerlessness is a clear illustration of faithlessness because prayer is calling upon God in spite of what you do or do not see." - Dr. Tony Evans
God wants us to see Him as being greater than anything, anyone and any situation we might encounter in life. We must do that through the eyes of faith. We can express that faith through prayer, even when what we see (or don't see) makes it hard, in fact that is that exact opportunity to move from faithlessness to faith by calling on Lord in believing prayer.
What is it that you are seeing or not seeing that is hindering you from expressing faith in God? Remember that He is bigger and more than what you see or don't see! Ask God to do what only He can do and wait expectantly for God to work!
